What fuels mission?

There are a lot of needs in this world which means there’s a lot of work to be done. So it’s not enough to sit around and grieve the bad in this world. However, we also need to remember that,

“It’s not our energy that people primarily need…it’s the Father’s love which has been wrought in each of our lives at great cost to our Savior.”

When teaching your students about missions or considering your own ministry, you must keep the right fuels burning in order to finish well.

For effective missions, emphasizing our inner relationships with Christ as well as our outward actions into the world must both be central to our strategies.

In this article Troy Walling lays out his case for what fuels missions, how that fuel keeps burning, and what can go wrong if it’s ignored.

The world needs leaders who go and keep on going, not leaders who go and burnout after a year or two because they’ve deprived themselves of fuel.
