Robert Owens served for five years as Tennessee Tech University's Minority Affairs Director. He served in that capacity until being appointed Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs in July of 2014. In this role his focus is on Access and Diversity. In the fall of 2012, after serving in various leadership capacities at Church on the Hill, Robert and Dana launched “The Well”, the church’s college/young adult ministry. In February of 2012 they also began a ministry called “Manna” that still offered a place on the weekend for college students and young adults (especially those of color) to share their artistic talents for God. Both of these ministries for young adults are still alive and fruitful today. Most recently, Robert, his wife Dana, and their five children have planted a new multi-ethnic church in Cookeville, TN called Kainos Church.
